HART brings bus information to cell phones
March 12, 2010
HART passengers who use cell phones, iPhones or Android phones can use their wireless devices to find out when the next bus is scheduled to show up at their stop, as well as system service updates and bus stop locations.
The Hillsborough Area Regional Transit service called RouteShout began this week throughout the bus system.
Passengers can text the ID printed on the bus stop sign on their route and, within seconds, they will get data that eventually will include real-time information about the next bus, HART spokeswoman Tameca Johnson said.
No date has been set for the beginning of real-time input.
Cell phone users with mobile servers can go to m.routeshout.com, search GoHART and connect.
IPhone users would go to iTunes, search RouteShout, load the application and search Gohart.
Android users would go to the "Android market," search Routeshout, load the application and search Gohart.
